About

Sika is an Urban Planner with a background in Urban Design and Architecture. Whilst completing her Master of Urban Planning at the University of Melbourne, she was part of the pilot CEDRR project and worked for MSD Student Life as a Mentor Leader. This grew her interest in engaging with vulnerable communities and understanding how resilience can improve outcomes for these groups. She wishes to continue exploring the theme of resilience as the impacts of Climate Change and economic instability which continue to create new challenges and affect urban environments in new ways. Sika has also participated in initiatives such as the Say it Loud Naarm Exhibition, which aims to spotlight the cultural and ethnic diversity of practitioners within the Built Environment Industry. She aims to help bolster diversity within the industry and provide support for Indigenous People and other People of Colour fighting for visibility and acknowledgement.
