About

Crystal Legacy is Associate Professor of Urban Planning at the University of Melbourne where she is also the Deputy Director of the Informal Urbanism Research Hub. Crystal has published widely on the topics of urban transport politics, citizen participation and the post-political city in a range of national and international journals. She is an active contributor to The Conversation and provides regular advice and comment to government and media.

In addition to research, Crystal also teaches Participatory Planning and Urban Transport Politics as part of the Master of Urban Planning and she is the convener of the Progressive Planners Network. Crystal is the Debates and Reflections Editor of the journal Planning Theory and Practice which she shares with Dr Andy Inch and she is also a Research Articles Editor for the journal Urban Policy and Research. Crystal was the inaugural co-chair of the Australasian Early Career Urban Research Network (AECURN) and is a regularly presenter at local and national industry conferences and community panels.
